Shareholders of NC KazMunayGas JSC are Samruk-Kazyna Joint Stock Company (67.42%), Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan – (20%), National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan (9.58%) and minority shareholders (3%). At the same time, the shares owned by the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan are in trust of Samruk-Kazyna Joint Stock Company.

Joint-Stock Company «Sovereign Wealth Fund «Samruk-Kazyna» was founded in 2008 by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. On 6 April 2023, Yernat Kudaibergenovich Berdigulov was elected as a member of the Board of Directors of JSC NC “KazMunayGas” – representative of JSC “Samruk-Kazyna”, and Armanbay Saparbayevich Zhubayev was elected as a member of the Board of Directors of JSC NC “KazMunayGas” – Independent Director by the resolution of the extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders of JSC NC “KazMunayGas” (Minutes №1\2023).
On 6 April 2023, the quantitative composition and term of office of the Counting Commission of the General Meeting of Shareholders of JSC NC “KazMunayGas” were determined and the members of the Counting Commission of the General Meeting of Shareholders of JSC NC “KazMunayGas” were elected by the resolution of the extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders of JSC NC “KazMunayGas” (Minutes №1\2023).
